The Main Point
Bryn Mawr, PA
With David Lindley. There is conflicting evidence regarding
these dates. Bruce Springsteen sources maintain that this was a 5-night benefit
starting on Sept 3rd with Springsteen making a guest appearance on the 4th when
he performed a solo acoustic rendition of Born
To Run. The "final" show (always assumed to be Sept 7th but may actually be 9th) was simulcast on WMMR-FM. However a
contemporaneous review suggests there were 12 sets in total suggesting 6 nights. The Main Point official list -
now no longer on the web - also supports the 6 nights theory. They list James Cotton appearing on the 2nd,
Nils Lofgren on the 3rd and Jackson starting on the 4th.
